Hole N" The Rock, aka Hole In The Rock

In trying to decide what to do for Tuesday, July 15, 2008, Amanda mentioned that she would like to go somewhere they had never been before. Moab is only a 2 1/2 hour drive from Telluride, and Ryan and Amanda decided they would like to go to Arches National Park. Beside the highway 12 miles before Moab there is a tourist attraction you cannot miss called Hole In The Rock. There is a 5,000 square foot home carved out into this rock just below the hugely painted white lettering. It is kind of a cheesy-looking place to stop and Ryan said it was like something the Griswold's would visit in the Vacation movies.
Garrett took a tour of the home last summer with Jordan and Dakota when they were there with my in-laws Barbara and Paul. Garrett has talked about this Jeep made out of license plates many times.

The petting zoo is free and the kids had fun seeing the animals that weren't hiding from the hot sun.

They even have two-story bathrooms. :)

We didn't take the tour of the home, but you can actually see a glimpse of the kitchen and living area from the gift shop. There are a few pictures of the home at the Hole In The Rock website.
