We drove into Aspen from Independence Pass on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, listening to Rocky Mountain High and Starwood in Aspen by John Denver. We were curious to see the famous ski town and how it compares to Telluride. The year round population of Aspen is supposedly around 6,000 people, but it seemed like a lot more people than that were there that day. It was crowded and there was traffic everywhere and several traffic lights. Telluride is proud of the fact that the closest traffic light is several miles away.

Affordable dining in Aspen! Seems like they try to hide their golden arches. I don't think they really want the McDonald's to be there.
