Bighorn Sheep

We see bighorn sheep every time we travel on state highway 114, just east of Gunnison. I make sure we travel that way every time we are headed to Oklahoma! It's a narrow winding road, but totally worth it!

Great road! I read it was the original route the Spanish took from New Mexico out towards California in the old, old days. A Native American passage route before that. I love that road too, but have only traveled from Saguache to the Pass, so far. One day, I'll make it to Gunnison! ;)

Are the sheep there year-round? We saw some on Hwy, 24 last Summer before the turn off to Twin Lakes.

I think they are there year-round, or maybe I'm just lucky!
