Weekend in Pagosa Springs

Last weekend we got away for a little while to one of our favorite places and stayed in The Springs Resort and Spa in Pagosa Springs.  It was good timing to go somewhere fun and relaxing as we had said goodbye to Garrett on Labor Day when he left for Marine Corps boot camp. If you ever stay in Pagosa, I recommend staying at the resort hotel since they give you 24/7 hour access to the pools.

They were having their balloon festival that weekend, and I caught two of them lit up when we were eating outside at Tequila's.

After we left the pools, we spent some time at the Rocky Mountain Wildlife Park, only 5 miles out of town.

This is Gracie the bobcat, looking over at Meeka the wolf, seen in the top left corner.

Another shot of Meeka.

Princess the grizzly has a nice big yard, but she was content just laying in her cage that afternoon.

The most fun animal was the little donkey, Dusty. The kids had a lot of fun feeding him. He started whining like a puppy when he saw the girls coming up with bags of food.

Lastly, this is Willow the mountain lion.  I didn't get good pictures of all of the animals due to the cages, but it is a fun place to visit.
