A Little Bit of Camping

We did manage to take a camping trip earlier this month.  I would have shared some photos earlier, but I have recently bought a new laptop, and going from Windows XP straight to Windows 8.1 threw me for a loop, but I think I have it figured out now.  We camped at Blue Mesa Lake, the largest lake in Colorado, which is also a National Recreation Area.

The Elk Creek campground is pretty nice with great views.  Plus we were able to rent a kayak and stand up paddle board at the marina store.

After Blue Mesa Lake, we made the long drive down through the San Luis Valley to Great Sand Dunes National Park.  I realized that Maralee had never been there and needed to see it.  When I was growing up, it was a place we stopped several times, back when it was still a National Monument.
Savanna and I thought we would try to recreate this photo from 1998.

We did it!  With the addition of Maralee photobombing.

If you have ever read one of my posts about camping, you probably already know where we ended our trip, The Springs Resort in Pagosa Springs!
